Vol. 165 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Inquiry into Cork Man's Death.

asked the Minister for Health whether he has received the findings of the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Denis O'Donovan of Castlecor, Kanturk, County Cork, and, if not, when he expects to receive such findings.

asked the Minister for Health whether a transcript of the evidence was taken at the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Denis O'Donovan of Castlecor, Kanturk, County Cork, and if so, whether a copy has been furnished to the inspector who conducted the inquiry.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose taking Questions Nos. 35 and 36 together.

I have not yet received the findings of the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of Denis O'Donovan.

A transcript of the evidence was taken at the inquiry. This transcript was taken by three different note-takers, two of whom completed the typing of their respective portions of transcript and transmitted the documents to the inspector some considerable time ago.

The third notetaker has not yet furnished his portion of the transcript to the inspector but he has promised to do so within a matter of days. When this is received the inspector hopes to be able to submit his report to me within a fortnight.
