Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of South Galway Lands.

asked the Minister for Lands whether the St. Cleran's Estate at Craughwell, County Galway, will shortly be divided amongst deserving local applicants.

An area of 75 acres of this estate, which originally comprised 358 acres, has already been disposed of. The Land Commission hope to make further allotments within the next few weeks.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will indicate whether the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the Hale Estate, Ballymore Castle, Laurencetown, Ballinasloe, for division amongst deserving local applicants and, if so, with what result.

asked the Minister for Lands if the Land Commission have considered the propriety of acquiring the Deasy Estate at Derryhinny, Portumna, County Galway, for division amongst the deserving congests in that area and, if so, with what result.

I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to take Questions Nos. 68 and 69 together.

The Land Commission have no proceedings for the acquisition of these estates at present.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when the O'Farrell Estate, Dalystown, Loughrea, County Galway, will be divided amongst the deserving applicants in the locality.

The preparation of schemes for this estate and the adjoining estate of Dalystown Company Limited, representing nearly 800 acres in all, is now nearing completion but as yet I am unable to be definite about the date of allotment.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state when the Bowes-Daly Estate at Dunsandle, Athenry, County Galway, will be divided amongst deserving local applicants.

Proposals for the allotment of this estate have not yet been formulated.

Allotment may be expected within the next 18 months.
