Vol. 166 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Fish Freezing Plant.

asked the Minister for Lands if he will state the number of (a) male and (b) female workers employed at the fish freezing plant at Galway, the total number of workers that will eventually be employed, and when that figure will be attained.

I understand from An Bord Iascaigh Mhara that there are three workers, all male, at present employed at the Galway fish processing premises and that up to 50 workers, 25 male and 25 female, may eventually be employed on seasonal production. When the maximum employment will be attained will depend on the availability of suitable supplies of fish.

No wonder there is emigration. Only three employed there!
