Vol. 168 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Galway Industries.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state what progress has been made towards the establishment of industries in Galway so as to provide employment and stem emigration from the city.

As I explained to the Deputy when replying to a previous question on March 26th, the establishment of new industries in Galway, as elsewhere, is primarily a matter for private enterprise and local initiative. There are at present before my Department seven proposals formulated by private interests which seem likely to result in the establishment of new industries in Galway.
