Vol. 172 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Disallowance of Unemployment Assistance in Dublin.

6.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will state in respect of the six months ended 31st December, 1958 (a) the number of persons disallowed unemployment assistance at Dublin exchanges on the grounds that their means exceeded the statutory amount allowed, and (b) the number of such cases where the means assessed represented board and lodging provided by relatives.

The information asked for is not readily available. I am, however, having it compiled and will convey it to the Deputy as soon as possible.

Would the Parliamentary Secretary not consider conveying that information to the House rather than to the Deputy, in view of the fact that the question, having been put down, becomes the property of the House?
