47.

asked the Taoiseach if he will state particulars of fatal and non-fatal cases reported under the Workmen's Compensation Acts for a recent year in the form set out in pages 14 and 15 of Workmen's Compensation Statistics for 1937 (P. 3614), and, if figures are readily available, separate particulars for agricultural accidents.

The following tables include for the year 1956, the latest year for which the information is available, the particulars asked for by the Deputy:—

TABLE 1.—Number of cases in which Workmen's Compensation was paid by Insurance Companies and certain large uninsured employers in 1956 distinguishing nature of case and whether industrial or agricultural, and showing amount of compensation paid.
