Vol. 178 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New National Schools in Mayo.

45.

asked the Minister for Education if he will state in respect of County Mayo (a) the new national schools the erection of which will commence this year, and (b) the national schools upon which reconstruction will commence this year.

It is likely that the erection of a new school at Plovervale and the reconstruction of Inver national school will commence before the end of the current financial year.

I should like to add for the Deputy's information that three new schools, namely, Ballina boys, Loughanemon and Shraheen are in course of erection at present and that a scheme of reconstruction is in progress at Belmullet infants national school.

Will the Minister say in regard to schools to be erected and schools to be reconstructed if anything is being done about Shranamonragh national school, Ballycroy, where children have not been attending for some considerable time now?

That seems to be a separate question.

Perhaps I shall put it down next week.
