Vol. 187 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Capital Grants to Cork Authorities.

4.

andMr. Healy asked the Minister for Health if he will state in respect of the latest financial year for which figures are available the amounts paid or committed to be paid out of moneys under his control by way of capital grants to local authorities, health authorities and other authorities or bodies in Cork City and County.

It is assumed that what the Deputies have in mind is capital grants made available for the construction, improvement and equipment of hospitals and similar institutions in Cork City and County. The total amount so made available up to 31st March, 1960 was £3,450,438. In addition, it is estimated that on 31st March, 1960, the total amount of grants committed to be paid was £355,000. These commitments were in respect of works completed but not fully paid for, works in progress and projects for which grants had been definitely promised but which had not commenced at that date.
