Vol. 189 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Occasional Licences for Dance Halls.

6.

asked the Minister for Justice how many occasional licences for the consumption of drink have been issued to dance halls since the Intoxicating Liquor Act, 1960, came into operation last July; and if he will give separate figures for County Dublin and Bray.

The answer, which includes some explanatory notes, is in the form of a tabular statement which, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, will be circulated with the Official Report. Exact figures for the administrative County of Dublin are not compiled but figures for certain district court areas that correspond substantially to the administrative county are included in the answer.

Following is the statement:—

NUMBER of Occasional Licences authorised between 4th July, 1960 and 4th May, 1961, in respect of dances.

(NOTE.—Some Occasional Licences are applied for well in advance of the dates to which they relate, while others are applied for only a few days beforehand. Accordingly, the figures have been sub-divided, in the Table hereunder, to show what Occasional Licences, of those authorised since 4th July, 1960, were in respect of dates now past and what Occasional Licences are in respect of dates still to come.)
