Vol. 192 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Erection of Garda Stations.

192.

asked the Minister for Justice when it is proposed to erect a new Garda Station at Kinnegad, County Meath.

The Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to proceed with the erection of a Station at this centre where new premises are urgently required. A suitable site has, however, not yet been located and it is not possible therefore to say when the erection of the new Station will commence.

193.

asked the Minister for Justice when it is proposed to erect a new Garda Station at Rochfortbridge, County Kildare.

The Commissioners of Public Works have been asked to proceed with the erection of a new Station at this centre. A site has been acquired but it is not possible to say at this stage when the erection of the new Station will commence.

May I call the Minister's attention to the fact that both of these stations are in a very bad condition and would he mind asking the Commissioners if they can do something to accelerate the erection of new stations in these places?

In fact, we regard the provision of a new station at Rochfortbridge as very urgent and the Commissioners of Public Works know that is our view.
