asked the Minister for Social Welfare the number of people in County Donegal who have applied for old age contributory pensions; and the number granted (a) on application and (b) on appeal.

Up to and including 31st January, 1962, the number of claims to old age (contributory) pension from persons residing in County Donegal was 1,557, and in 1,089 of these cases pensions had been awarded. A record of the number of such pensions which were awarded following appeal is not available.
