Vol. 194 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Sale of Thurles Land.

6.

asked the Minister for Health the reasons for the delay in sanctioning the sale of land at Parnell Street, Thurles, by Tipperary (N.R.) County Counil to Thurles Urban District Council.

A proposal was received on 11th January, 1962 from the Tipperary (N.R.) County Council for the sale of two plots of land at Parnell Street, Thurles, one to the Thurles Urban District Council and the other to County Tipperary Joint Libraries Committee. This proposal was agreed to by the Department on 13th March, 1962. Before this decision could be given it was necessary to consult the Commissioner for Valuation regarding the reasonableness of the sale prices proposed and to consider the desirability of approving of the diversion to other uses of land which was acquired for hospital purposes. These matters were disposed of without undue delay.
