Vol. 194 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Salaries in Agricultural Organisations.

82.

asked the Minister for Justice if in view of the damage caused to certain agricultural organisations by his statement when replying to the debate on the Second Reading of the Courts (Supplemental Provisions) (Amendment) Bill, 1962 that in certain agricultural organisations dealing with farmers' produce a salary of £6,000 was not so much, he will now state the agricultural organisation to which he was referring; and, if not, if he will state that he was not referring to any of the following organisations: (1) The National Farmers' Association, (2) Macra na Feirme, (3) Irish Sugar Beet Growers Association, (4) Leinster Milk Producers Association, and (5) The Irish Agricultural Organisation Society.

I do not accept the Deputy's statement that damage has been caused to certain agricultural organisations by the statement referred to. I did not have any of the organisations named by him in mind as I have no knowledge of the salaries paid by them.
