Vol. 196 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Grants for Provision of Amenities.

52.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will state in respect of each county the amounts of money paid by way of grant for (i) clearing derelict sites, (ii) developing open spaces, (iii) recreational facilities, (iv) scenic vistas, (v) car parks, (vi) caravan sites, and (vii) other amenities referred to in his election broadcast speech of 20th September, 1961.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, it is proposed with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report. The statement shows for each county and county borough the amount paid up to the 30th June under the Derelict Sites Grants Scheme and the Amenity Grants Scheme. Detailed records of amenity grants in the form requested by the Deputy are not readily available.

Following is the statement:—
