Vol. 199 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kerry Bridge.

33.

asked the Minister for Local Government what is the reason for the delay in sanctioning the building of Flesk Bridge, Killarney, County Kerry, the erection of which has been planned for the past ten years.

The erection of a new bridge at Flesk has been formally approved since January, 1959, when a Road Fund grant was allocated to the project. The planning of the scheme proved unusually complex but the final drawings have been submitted and are being examined in the Department. Details of land acquisition have been submitted in the last week and it is expected that the Department's views on the documents can be conveyed to the council in the near future.
