Vol. 200 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Ballycroy (Mayo) Electricity Supply.

12.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if arrangements will be made without delay for a canvass of all householders in the Ballycroy parish, County Mayo, so that they may be connected with the rural electrification scheme.

I am informed by the Electricity Supply Board that Ballycroy parish forms part of the Electricity Supply Board's Ballycroy rural area where, as a result of the special capital subsidy for the provision of a backbone transmission line in the area, development work under the rural electrification scheme is expected to commence about next September. All householders in the area will then be canvassed and given the opportunity to avail themselves of supply.
