Vol. 200 No. 8

Order of Business.

Business, as set out on the Order Paper, will be taken as follows: Nos. 1, 5, 10, 6—Votes 2 to 25—7, 8 and 2.

Might I again ask the Taoiseach if any arrangement has been made about the two motions I mentioned yesterday? One of them comes into operation to-morrow, unless something is done about it.

My information is that it does not come into effect to-morrow. The Deputy still has three days. I am prepared to find an hour to-morrow for the discussion of that motion.

Why only an hour?

I think an hour is enough.

That is the totalitarian mind emerging again: a minute is too long. An hour is not acceptable. There are three names down to this and we hope to get a comprehensive reply from the Minister responsible for this wretched, miserable scheme.

Could we not have more than an hour in view of the fact that the Dáil collapsed on two occasions in recent weeks because there was not any business?

If the Deputy sees any chance of the Dáil collapsing to-morrow——

We will not accept an hour. You look for support from the turf workers at election time but you will grant no more than an hour to discuss their problem.
