Vol. 204 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Waterford Auxiliary Creamery.

10.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he is aware of the growing demand for an auxiliary creamery, or separating station at Ballysaggart, Lismore, County Waterford; and if, in view of the very severe charges made on dairy farmers for conveyance of their milk to the creamery, he will have a suitable auxiliary creamery built in the area.

When this matter was investigated two years ago by the Irish Agricultural Organisation Society it appeared that the arrangements for the cartage of milk from the Ballysaggart area to existing creameries were reasonably satisfactory. It is of course open to the dairy farmers of the area to ask the IAOS to review the position again.
