Vol. 205 No. 2

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Cork Housing Schemes.

28.

asked the Minister for Local Government the number of proposed housing schemes submitted to his Department by Cork County Council (South) in the past 12 months which are still awaiting sanction, and the date of submission of each proposal.

Proposals for the acceptance of tenders for the erection of two cottages at Arlinstown and Curravreeda were received in my Department from the local authority on 8th October, 1963, and are under consideration.

Has the Minister examined the letter from Cork County Council (South) sent to his Department on 14th June, 1963, directing his attention to outstanding cases?

Further arising out of the Minister's reply, would the Minister indicate whether sanction has yet been given to Compulsory Purchase Order No. 3 which was lodged by this housing office in his Department on 6th January, 1963, and still awaits sanction?

I am afraid that, without notice, I could not give the answer to that.

Surely it was included in the terms of Deputy Desmond's question.

That asks for the number of proposed housing schemes.

Very well; I shall put down a question to elicit the information.

May I ask the Minister, if he decides there is difference in the meaning of the word "schemes" in the county council letter, will he examine the letter sent to his Department on 14th of June which has not yet been dealt with?
