Vol. 207 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Irish Tourist Office in New York.

24.

asked the Minister for Transport and Power if the Irish Tourist Office in New York is operated by the ITA or by An Bord Fáilte.

The Irish Tourist Office in New York is operated by Bord Fáilte Éireann.

Is the Minister aware that Mount Saint Mary's College in New York are staging an Irish exhibit in order to encourage their faculty and students to visit Ireland? The librarian, who happens to be a Waterford woman, asked the Irish Tourist Office for literature and photographs relating to Ireland. They were sent to her. The Irish Tourist Office in New York sent me a number of scenic photographs of various cities, but Waterford was not amongst them. Would the Minister look into that? Waterford Corporation have always paid their dues to the Tourist Board without any crib and I think we should be entitled to better treatment from the Tourist Office. This librarian happens to be the daughter of a very distinguished Waterfordman who emigrated to America 50 years ago.

That does not happen to be asking a question.

I am asking the Minister will he see about this. This has happened before.
