Vol. 207 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - South Tipperary and West Waterford Schools.

31.

asked the Minister for Education the number of national schools in South Tipperary and West Waterford which (a) are at present being replaced by new schools, (b) are scheduled for replacement, (c) are in need of repair or reconstruction, and (d) lack water and sanitary facilities.

There are 11 national schools in the area in question at present being replaced by new buildings and there are a further 42 schools scheduled for replacement. There are 15 national schools in need of extensive repairs or reconstruction.

I regret that the information requested by the Deputy in regard to schools which lack water and sanitary facilities is not readily available.

There is no water in a good many of the schools, especially that school in Modeligo.

Is that the way the name is pronounced.
