Vol. 207 No. 13

Committee on Finance. - Vote 3—Department of the Taoiseach.

I move:

That a supplementary sum not exceeding £10 be granted to defray the charge which will come in course of payment during the year ending on the 31st day of March, 1964, for the Salaries and Expenses of the Department of the Taoiseach.

I understand it is not desired to have a discussion of the token Estimate at this time. In regard to the other Supplementary Estimate I shall move, the reason for it is, first, the travelling expenses in connection with my official visit to the United States last year and, secondly, additional expenses which arose in connection with the two Commissions charged against my Vote as well as adjustment of remuneration following upon the Civil Service pay award.

The token Estimate set down provides the occasion for a variety of topics which can be suitably discussed on the Central Fund Bill, which we will have before us in the next couple of weeks, if we wish to raise them.

In regard to the items on the other Supplementary Estimate, there is no matter arising we have any reason to query and we are prepared to accept it.

Thank you.

Vote put and agreed to.
