asked the Minister for Defence if he will state the appropriate pension for officers' widows for each rank.

It is presumed that the Deputy's question refers to pensions payable to widows under the Defence Forces (Pensions) Scheme.

In addition, pensions are payable in respect of each eligible child at the rate of £37 2s. 11d. per annum while the mother is living and at the rate of £54 9s. 9d. if the mother dies. An eligible child is a son under the age of 18 years and a daughter under the age of 21 years and unmarried.
