Vol. 208 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Artificial Insemination of Pigs.

26.

asked the Minister for Agriculture what steps have been taken by his Department towards assisting the experiments in artificial insemination in pigs, at present being carried out in the cattle breeding stations in Mitchelstown and Mallow, County Cork; and, if no such steps have been taken, if he will explain why.

We have assisted these two large scale organisations in the two ways that were open to us. First, by helping in the planning of the service when it was initially undertaken on a limited basis, and secondly by leasing high-class boars to the stations at moderate fees.
