Vol. 208 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Kilkenny Telephone Installations.

84.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of telephones installed in Kilkenny city and county in each of the years 1961 to 1963, inclusive.

The numbers were: City: 59, 60 and 35 respectively. County: 72, 81 and 96 respectively.

85.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs the number of applicants awaiting installation of telephones in Kilkenny city and county; and when it is proposed to provide this service.

The numbers are 50 and 170 respectively. Some 45 of these will be dealt with in the next few months.

Because of the necessary concentration on urgent long term work in the interest of subscribers generally, it may not be possible for some time to clear the remaining applications.
