Vol. 209 No. 5

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Division of Athlone Estate.

13.

asked the Minister for Lands what is the present position in regard to the division of the Hodson Estate, Twyford, Athlone, County Westmeath (Record No. 21847) among the local people; if he is aware that the continued letting of this farm on the eleven months system is only aggravating its present impoverished condition of fertility; and if arrangements will be made for division as soon as possible this year.

The present position regarding this 281 acre estate is that the necessary inquiries on the ground have concluded and work on the formulation of resale proposals is well advanced. The Land Commission hope to allot the lands fairly soon.
