The accounts of Irish Shipping Ltd. for 1963-64 which were laid before both Houses of the Oireachtas on 10th June, 1964, show an operating surplus of £445,322 on working account. After allowing for depreciation of the fleet amounting to £1,023,845 and for certain other adjustments, the net commercial loss amounted to £556,721.
I did not ask the Minister for the operating surplus on Irish Shipping. I asked was there a profit or loss.
I have given the Deputy the information.
There is a loss of £500,000.
The Minister gave the Deputy more information than he asked for.
