Vol. 212 No. 4

Written Answers. - Capital of Industrial Firms.

76.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will state, with respect to the firms stated to have been established in the State since 1957 to date with foreign participation, what proportion of the capital involved as (a) fixed capital and (b) working capital has been provided by such foreign participants; and in what proportions the remainder of the capital has been supplied by (1) the State and (2) native investors or capitalists.

77.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number of firms established in the State since 1957 (a) completely by native investors or capitalists, and (b) completely by foreign investors or capitalists; and if he will state the amount of (1) fixed capital and (2) working capital, furnished respectively by (a) and (b) above.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 74, 76 and 77 together.

The information requested is not available and if it could be compiled at all it would be only after a long and searching investigation. I do not consider that such an investigation would be warranted in view of the time and expense involved.
