Vol. 215 No. 12

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Hospital Sweep Employees.

44.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he is aware that in the Sweepstake organisation operated by the Hospitals Trust Board there is considerable opposition by the management to employees joining a trade union; and that employees who have joined trade unions have been victimised; and if he will investigate this restrictive practice with a view to ensuring that these employees should have restored to them their right to join a trade union.

I am not so aware, but if the Deputy wishes to place information before me, I will consider whether it is something I should inquire into.
