asked the Minister for Lands if he will give details of the days worked at forestry centres for 1965 in the form of a reply of 28th April, 1965.
246.
asked the Minister for Lands if he will state in respect of each forestry centre in respect of a recent period of three months, particulars of wet-time entering into the Forestry Bonus Scheme.
With the permission of the Ceann Comhairle I propose to take Questions Nos. 245 and 246 together.
The information sought in Question No. 245 is not available in the form requested since the relevant records other than records relating to each individual worker in connection with his annual leave entitlement, are maintained on the basis of hours paid rather than on a daily basis. In any event, in relation to both of these questions, I am reluctant to set the precedent of furnishing in respect of every forest centre in the country detailed data of a character which is compiled solely for administrative purposes. The extraction of such information for reply to Parliamentary Questions would involve additional costs and I am not satisfied that any useful purpose would be served.
In the twelve months ended 30 June, 1965, the percentage of total hours paid which was recorded as time during which weather conditions precluded work was 8½ per cent.
