asked the Taoiseach if he will state in respect of persons on the register of employed in December, 1965, the percentage whose incomes were (a) under £10 per week, (b) £10 to £15 per week, (c) £15 to £20 per week, (d) £20 to £30 per week, (e) £30 to £40 per week, and (f) over £40 per week.

The information requested by the Deputy is not available.

The only relevant general data available relate to the distribution of wage-earners by rate of weekly earnings in all industries included in the Census of Industrial Production. Less than one-third of the employees in the State are covered by these data.

With your permission, Sir, I propose to circulate in the Official Report a table giving the latest available information derived from the Census of Industrial Production.
