Vol. 220 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Execution of Court Orders.

33.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will have arrangements made for records to be kept of the number of decrees, execution orders and fi. fas. lodged with sheriffs and county registrars for execution; and the number of such in which (i) a return of nulla bona is given or (ii) seizures and sales are effected.

I am arranging for the sheriffs and the county registrars concerned to furnish my Department in future with annual statements showing the total number of orders lodged with them for execution, and also the number of (a) returns of nulla bona, and (b) seizures and sales effected. The first statement will be in respect of the judicial year commencing on 1st August next. Advance arrangements will be necessary to record the statistics so that the amount of work involved will not take up an inordinate amount of time of staff.

Question No. 34 postponed.
