In so far as my Department is concerned there has been no delay in dealing with the Ballisodare sewerage scheme, final contract documents for which were approved on the 14th April, 1965.

16.

asked the Minister for Local Government the present position regarding the provision of a water and sewerage scheme at Oola, County Limerick; and what is the cause of the delay in starting the work.

17.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he is aware of the most urgent need for a water and sewerage scheme in Oola, County Limerick; and if he will state fully the reasons for the delays on the part of his Department in approving loans and documents in connection with the provision of these schemes.

18.

asked the Minister for Local Government on what date his Department received revised contract documents for the sewerage scheme at Oola, County Limerick; when he expects to approve these documents; when he expects to approve the loan applications by Limerick County Council for the water and sewerage schemes at Oola; and when he expects to confirm the compulsory purchase order in connection with the building of a reservoir for the Oola water scheme.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take the replies to Questions Nos. 16, 17 and 18 together.

I hope to be in a position shortly to give a decision on the compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of a reservoir site for the Oola water scheme, which was submitted by Limerick County Council for my confirmation on the 2nd ultimo. Contract documents for this scheme have already been approved.

I understand that the county council are at present in the process of acquiring, by agreement, a site for a treatment works for the Oola sewerage scheme. Revised contract documents for the sewerage scheme, which were received in my Department on the 22/10/1965 are still under consideration.

Loan applications to finance the two schemes cannot be considered until all the necessary land rights have been acquired.

19.

asked Minister for Local Government if tests have been carried out on the proposed water scheme at Rylane, County Cork; and, if so, what were the results of these tests.

I understand from Cork County Council that the yield tests on the proposed source of the Rylane scheme have proved satisfactory. The council are awaiting the results of chemical and bacteriological analyses before submitting a full report to my Department.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the proposed extensions to Castletownroche water supply, County Cork will be approved.

Revised preliminary proposals for extensions to Castletownroche water supply which were received in my Department on 10th August, 1966 are at present under examination. I am not in a position to say when approval to the proposals will issue.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government when the proposed water supply improvement scheme for Midleton, County Cork, will be carried out.

22.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received the contract documents for the Midleton water supply improvement scheme, County Cork, which were submitted to his Department some months ago; and if he will now sanction the scheme which is urgently required in view of industrial expansion in the district.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 21 and 22 together.

Revised contract documents for the Midleton water supply improvement scheme are still under consideration in my Department. I am not yet in a position to say when approval will issue thereto.

Is the Minister aware that those proposals have been in his Department for over 12 months?

I am aware of that.

Will the Minister move them out of there?
