Vol. 224 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Issue of National Loan.

9.

asked the Minister for Finance when it is expected that a national loan will be issued; and if he will state its probable value.

I hope to announce the terms of the new National Loan within the next few weeks.

Could the Parliamentary Secretary tell us, in addition to the National Loan the terms of which he proposes to announce in the course of the next few weeks, are there any National Loans coming up for redemption this year or next year?

If the Deputy asks a question in those terms, he will get an answer.

That is quite a different matter.

It all relates to National Loans.

I cannot allow the Deputy to raise a separate matter.

The question of the redemption of other loans is very materially going to affect the atmosphere of the launching of a new one.

This is the matter of the issue of a National Loan.

I am asking what is going to happen to the other two National Loans.

That is a matter for a separate question.

The question on the Order Paper is quite specific. If Deputy Dillon wants a specific reply to the question he attempted to raise, I am sure the Minister will reply to it.

I should have thought he would have replied to it now.
