asked the Minister for Finance if he will state the amounts received by the Exchequer from the proceeds of the turnover tax for each accounting period monthly or quarterly up to the latest convenient date.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement, I propose, with your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, to have it circulated with the Official Report.

Turnover Tax chargeable in respect of transactions in any month is normally payable in the following month.

(a) Due to the temporary cessation of Banking facilities this figure represents the Exchequer Receipts in respect of the period from the 6th May, 1966, to 31st August, 1966, inclusive.
