Vol. 233 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Electoral Act Appeals.

12.

asked the Minister for Justice if he is aware that difficulty may be occasioned to persons desiring to exercise the right of appeal to the Circuit Court or Supreme Court given by the Electoral Act, 1963 from decisions on claims for inclusion in the Register of Electors, by reason of the absence of any rules of court providing for the manner in which such appeals may be brought and proceeded with or for the notification to the parties concerned of the court decision on such appeals; and if he intends to make such rules.

I am not aware of any instance in which such difficulty has arisen. However, I am arranging to have the text of the Deputy's question brought to the notice of the Superior Courts Rules Committee and the Circuit Court Rules Committee.
