asked the Taoiseach the total amount of money spent by all semi-State companies under the aegis of his Department in each of the past four years in film making; and how much of this was paid to Irish film-makers.

No such expenditure occurred in relation to my Department.

asked the Minister for Health the total amount of money spent by all semi-State companies under the aegis of his Department in each of the past four years in film making; and how much of this was paid to Irish film-makers.

The reply, in so far as my Department are concerned, is "nil".

All of the above payments were made to an Irish film-maker, in respect of a film on the Ballymun project, and 50 per cent of the expenditure has been recouped by the consortium of contractors.

The answer is none: there are no semi-State companies under the aegis of my Department.

asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the total amount of money spent by all semi-State companies under the aegis of his Department in each of the past four years in film making; and how much of this was paid to Irish film-makers.

The answer to the first part of the question is £3,562 in 1965-66, £98 in 1966-67, £1,930 in 1967-68 and £5,344 in 1968-69. The answer to the second part is £1,024 in 1965-66 and all of the expenditure in the other three years.

Radio Telefís Éireann is the only semi-State body for which I have a responsibility. I am advised by the Authority that the amounts spent by it in film-making in the past four years were as follows, comprising the cost of the Authority's own film-making activities and payments to other Irish film-makers:—
