Vol. 243 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Higher Education Legislation.

81.

asked the Minister for Education when he will publish proposals for legislation received by him from the higher education authority; and when he expects to introduce this legislation.

Every endeavour is being made to have legislation based on these proposals introduced if at all possible during the coming session. There could be no question of publishing the proposals in advance of legislation.

When did the Minister receive these proposals and how long is it likely to take?

Some time ago. I have to continue my consideration of them.

Would the Minister like to comment on the report in the Sunday Press.

If the Minister stops sending out Christmas greeting cards he will have more time to devote to his work.

The Minister is good, now, very, very good.
