Vol. 243 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Remuneration of Army Personnel.

105.

asked the Minister for Defence if the review of the remuneration of Army personnel is still under consideration; if such review includes conditions as well as pay; and when he expects a decision on the matter.

The review in question is concerned with pay and allowances and is still in progress. At this stage I am unable to say when it will be completed or when decisions may be expected.

Is the Minister aware that the overseas allowance paid to the Irish troops in 1961 was the same as the allowance paid to the Irish troops in Cyprus in 1969? Would the Minister please comment on that?

This question has nothing to do with overseas allowances.

Can the Minister say if Army personnel have representation on the body considering pay and remuneration?
