Vol. 244 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Milk Output.

25.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries the projected output of milk for 1970 to meet all market commitments.

27.

asked the Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries what percentage reduction in output of milk is anticipated in 1970 as a result of the recently-announced scheme of payment for milk delivered to creameries.

With your permission, a Cheann Comhairle, I propose to take Questions Nos. 25 and 27 together.

Given average weather conditions, the milk intake at creameries in 1970 is much more likely to exceed the Second Programme target of 550 million gallons than to show a reduction as compared with 1969.

That is just too bad, is it not?

In fact, it is very good. Does the Deputy understand it? I do not think he does.

It will cost more and more.

Order, Question No. 26.
