Vol. 244 No. 14

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Criminal Conduct Complaint.

10.

asked the Minister for Justice why the gardaí have so far failed to prosecute persons in respect of whom a complaint has been made of criminal conduct in defiance of a court order (details supplied); when action will be taken by the gardaí in the matter; whether any general or particular direction was issued by the Commissioner of the Garda Síochána or by any other authorised person in the matter; and, if so, if he will furnish details.

The incident to which the question relates occurred less than a fortnight ago and only just over a week before notice of the question was given. Accordingly, the implication that the gardaí have been negligent is clearly unfounded. The matter is being dealt with by the Garda in consultation with the law officers.
