Vol. 245 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Louth Town Clerks.

21.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will consider raising the status and remuneration of the town clerks of Drogheda and Dundalk to the level of county secretaries.

The salary scales for town clerks are related to the population of the towns in which they work and these salary scales are of general application throughout the local government service.

Could the Minister say when they were last adjusted?

All the general round increases have been applied to those salaries. A claim for an increase is being dealt with under the scheme of conciliation and arbitration.
