Vol. 245 No. 1

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Dublin Park.

9.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he expects the proposed park for the Coolock-Kilmore housing area of Dublin at Greencastle Road to be completed.

The development of this park is a matter for the local authority. I do not know when the authority expects to have the work completed.

As the local authority in question is the Dublin Corporation and as the Minister has deprived the corporation of existence, surely he must agree he has to take responsibility for this matter?

I have not deprived the corporation of existence and I do not take responsibility for the operation of it or any other local authority.

Does the Minister not consider that the question asked by Deputy Dr. Conor Cruise-O'Brien would merit inquiries being made to discover when this work will be completed?

Yes. I would recommend that the Deputy would make those inquiries.

Does the Minister as Minister for Local Government think this merits any interest on his behalf?

It is not in my constituency. It is in the Deputy's.

The Minister is a national Minister.

The Minister has no interest in this constituency.

I am not a representative of that constituency.

You are Minister for Local Government.

I would recommend that the Deputy would look after this and make inquiries from the source from which information can be obtained.

Would the Minister agree that it is improper on his part to categorise any question as being constituency-minded when he is the national Minister——

I have no intention of doing the Deputy's work at least until after he has been replaced.
