Vol. 245 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Water and Sewerage Schemes.

5.

asked the Minister for Local Government if on the 18th September, 1969, Laois County Council requested his approval to the provision of an auxiliary supply to the Mountmellick water supply scheme at an estimated cost of £16,000; and if he will give his sanction immediately to this proposal in view of increasing demands on the water supply by local industry, the hospital and existing and proposed housing schemes.

I am awaiting some technical information about this scheme which was requested of the local authority on 12th December last.

6.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he will now give his sanction to Laois County Council for the raising of a loan in connection with a sewerage scheme for Ballylinan; and if he will treat the matter as one of special urgency.

The submission, by Laois County Council, of revised borrowing proposals for a loan to defray the cost of this scheme is awaited.
