I approved the county council's proposal to accept a tender for this scheme last January and I hope to sanction shortly the raising of a loan to finance it.

asked the Minister for Local Government if he has received tenders from Laois County Council in connection with the erection of houses at Ballylinan; and if he will now give his approval to the council on this matter in view of the serious housing position in the area.
A proposal to accept a tender for this scheme was submitted to my Department recently and is being examined. I will give my decision on it shortly.
