I have received a request for confirmation of the compulsory purchase order for the acquisition of the land required for the Newtown-cunningham water supply scheme. I have deferred consideration of it until it is known whether the local authority's proposal for the taking of the supply of water for the scheme which, I understand, is the subject of objections, can be agreed locally or whether it will necessitate an application to me for a provisional order.
