Vol. 245 No. 8

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Tenant Purchase.

19.

asked the Minister for Local Government the progress to date under the Dublin Corporation's latest tenant purchase scheme; and whether consideration of the applications on hands at present could be expedited.

Returns submitted by the corporation indicate that over 9,000 of their tenants have so far indicated an interest in purchasing their houses under section 90 of the Housing Act, 1966.

The detailed administration of their sales scheme is a matter for the corporation.

20.

asked the Minister for Local Government when he proposes to sanction the sale of Galway Corporation houses to their tenants.

A decision on the corporation's proposals will be given when I have received and considered technical advice, which I have requested, about the market value of the houses.

The Minister said he has not got technical advice?

I said I have requested it. I have requested independent technical advice.
