Vol. 245 No. 9

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Bank Robberies.

9.

asked the Minister for Justice the number of bank robberies which have taken place in the past two years; the number of culprits apprehended; and the sentences imposed.

In the past two years, there have been nine bank robberies. Charges, involving five persons in all, have been brought in connection with two of these robberies but the proceedings are not yet completed. No proceedings have been taken so far in the other cases.

Is it not true that some of these people were brought to court and due to the incompetence of the Department of Justice——

May I point out, Sir, that these cases are sub judice?

I will wait for the next question.
