Vol. 248 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Cork Garda Stations.

33.

asked the Minister for Justice if any decision has been taken to close the Garda station in Carrigtwohill, County Cork, and the Garda station in Ballycotton, Midleton, County Cork; and, if not, if there is any question of their being closed in the foreseeable future.

I have no proposal from the Commissioner in regard to the closing of either Carrigtwohill or Ballycotton Garda stations. As part of the general review of the distribution of the force which is now in progress future police arrangements in these localities will be examined by the research and planning unit of the Garda Síochána, but at this stage I can give no indication of the outcome.
