The Committee on Agriculture of the Council of Europe visited this country on the invitation of the Irish delegation to the council. The committee's programme did not provide for any meeting with me. I was looking forward to greeting the visitors at a reception which I had arranged in their honour but, to my regret, I found myself unable to do so because of personal reasons. My Parliamentary Secretary deputised for me at the function.
